The four-year deal will see the EA Sports brand appear during all live Premier League games on Sky Sports, ESPN and internationally.

The games maker will also sponsor the Premier League player “performance index” and team of the week.

Matt Bilbey, vice president of football at EA Sports, says that the deal will boost global recognition.

“As the most watched domestic football competition in the world, the Barclays Premier League delivers tremendous global exposure and direct access to one of the most passionate football audiences in the world”, he adds.

The agreement is the first struck by the Premier League since signing Budweiser as official beer partner in 2002.

Richard Masters, sales and marketing director of the Premier League, claims the partnership “will connect with Barclays Premier League fans in new and inventive ways.”

Other Premier League partners include title sponsors Barclays, Lucozade Sport, Nike and Topps.

Broadcast partners include the BBC, Talk Sport and Absolute Radio in addition to Sky and ESPN.
