Frozen food heats up as Findus appoints agency

Frozen food group Findus UK has appointed Grey London as its strategic and creative agency.

Findus chief marketing officer Leendert den Hollander says the appointment is part of an “agency re-orientation across all markets” in a bid to “redefine attitudes towards the frozen food market”

Grey London will handle Findus’s creative advertising and marketing strategy.

Last week, Findus UK appointed research and insight consultancy McCallum Layton to handle its product and concept testing.

Findus is the parent group of the Findus, Young’s and The Seafood Company frozen food brands.

The frozen food sector is heating up as last week, Birds Eye Iglo acquired Findus Italy from Unilever in a €805m (£684m) deal as part of a strategy to double its European sales.
Findus Italy is a separate business from Findus Group and owns brands including such as Padella, Sofficini and Captain Findus, which will be integrated into the Birds Eye portfolio.

Chris Hirst, CEO for Grey London comments: “Findus is a well-loved brand with a great heritage – and we’re thrilled to be working with them to help achieve their ambitions.”
