Ennis to star in global Adidas campaign

Jessica Ennis is to star as one of the faces of its new Super Nova trainer marketing push, which launches this week following her triumph at the European Athletics Championships last weekend.

Ennis, who won Gold in the Heptathalon event in Barcelona will front a global marketing campaign alongside a raft of sporting stars.

The campaign features a free mobile coaching app and is designed to pave the way for the launch of its new Super Nova footwear range, due to launch later in the summer by promoting the importance of being properly equipped for sporting excellence.

It launches across TV, print, online at the end of the week.

A 60 second film featuring Super Nova shod Ennis, Tennis star Andy Murray, David Villa of the World Cup winning Spanish football team and England Rugby Union hero Johnny Wilkinson will form the central plank of the campaign.

The athletes are shown using the miCoach app during pre-season training in different settings from packed commuter streets to derelict wastelands.

NFL Superbowl winner Reggie Bush, NBA All Star Derrick Rose, and Olympic gold medallist and cycling World Champion Victoria Pendleton also star.

The campaign is part of the brand’s bid to be the “world’s leading sport brand”. It has been designed by180Amsterdam and bought by Carat.
