Abta names new head of comms

ABTA Malta: Travel industry body ABTA has recruited Victoria Bacon to be its new head of communications.

Bacon joins from the position of head of group communications at publisher Future and has previously worked in senior comms roles at BP and Kimberley-Clark.

She takes up the role in January next year and reports to ABTA chief executive Mark Tanzer.

He says: “ABTA is commnitted to a bold reform agenda and effective communications are essential to explain both to our members and the general public, what we are doing to shape the industry’s future and also to influence key decision makers in Westminster and in Brussels.”

ABTA is currently hosting The Travel Convention in Malta where speakers include Willie Walsh and London mayoral candidate Ken Livingstone
