Manchester City FC has announced plans to launch an iPhone app co-created by fans.

The app is due to launch next month and fans can follow the design plans via the official Man City blog.

They can also leave feedback on the blog posts by agency Acqueduct and Man City staff.

The app will have social media links that let fans post their favourite articles to Facebook and Twitter, and will provide live text commentary of the club’s games.

Ian Cafferky, Man City chief of brand and commercial officer, says: “When designing the app we knew it not only needed to look slick and be extremely useful, but most importantly fun to use, be it down the pub with friends or in the stands with your family.”

It follows the relaunch of the football club’s website in July last year and will give fans access to multimedia content including video.

“The app is only the beginning and will constantly evolve and get better with time, that’s why we created a blog for fans to leave their feedback and ideas,” said Cafferky.
