He replaces Matt Close who has been promoted to lead marketing operations for the foods and ice cream business in Europe.

Potter has been VP Marketing for Unilever’s HPC & Foods division in North Africa and the Middle East for the past six years.

Potter will report to Unilever UK & Ireland Chairman Amanda Sourry from 1 July.

He will sit alongside Hazel Detsiny, VP of marketing for Unilever’s food brands, who was appointed earlier this year.

Detsiny replaced Paul Nevett who was promoted as the first global vice-president of the Unilever brand to oversee the fmcg company’s corporate brand strategy.
