He will have responsibility for helping build the former Yahoo! brand into a “differentiated and customer-centric” global offering now the company has completed a detailed brand review. He will develop consistent branding in all markets and work across consumer, trade and employee touchpoints.

Yahoo! sold Kelkoo in October 2008 to equity firm Jamplant and the site currently covers 10 countries in Western Europe.

The site allows shoppers to find, research and buy products online.

Conway was previously head of marketing for Whitbread-owned Premier Inn and worked on the budget hotel chain’s brand and website. He is also a former Discovery Channel and BBC marketer.

He reports to CMO Chris Simpson who joined from Glasses Direct in August last year.

Simpson says: “Steve’s previous branding experience will prove invaluable as we look to create a consistent and recognisable voice for our customers, merchants and our employees across Europe.”
