AC/DC Back in Blanc with new wine business

Australian rock band AC/DC are set to launch a new range of wines, with varieties named after their best-selling hits.

The wines, sourced from their native country, are being sold in partnership with New South Wales-based winery Warburn Estate.

The range includes “Back in Black Shiraz”, “Hells Bells Sauvignon Blanc”, “You Shook Me All Night Long Moscato” and “Highway To Hell Cabernet Sauvignon”.

As well as t-shirts, posters and the usual band paraphernalia, other official AC/DC merchandise also includes a limited edition Monopoly board game and cigarette rolling papers.

Steve Donohue, general manager of buying for the Woolworths Liquor Group, which will stock the wine across its Australian supermarkets, said it was a “no brainer” to strike up the deal.

He added: “This is a world wide phenomena and a first in the marketplace.”

AC/DC are not the first musicians to produce their own wines. The Rolling Stones, Motorhead, Whitesnake, Madonna, Barbra Streissand and KISS have all also entered the wine business in recent years.
