Asos marketing director Clare Dobbie has left after just less than 2 years in the role.

Asos says it has no plans to replace Dobbie immediately adding that the current marketing team will continue to run operations.

Dobbie joined from agency Mother in January 2010 and was responsible for Asos’s £14.3m marketing budget.

An Asos spokesperson says: “In her time here, she led many new initiatives for the company and built a strong marketing department and a fully integrated in-house creative team.”

Asos’s UK sales have slowed in recent moths as the online retailer focuses on its growing international business.

Asos revenue soared 56% to £217m in the half year to 30 September, boosted by its overseas sales, which now account for 58% of the business.

International sales grew 150% during the half year to 30 September, and now account for almost 60% of the business, while UK sales increase 8%.

In September Asos launched transactional mobile apps after seeing mobile revenues increase 800% in 12 months.
