Barbie brand owner names marketing chief

Mattel has promoted Jenny Watson to lead its UK marketing for brands including Barbie and Thomas the Tank Engine.

Watson, who joined Mattel as marketing manager in 2010 after stints at PepsiCo and Mars, replaces Erica Zubriski, who is to oversee global marketing of its Fisher-Price brand.

In the newly created role, Zubriski will be tasked with developing the brand’s image in all territories.

Mattel recently bought the Thomas & Friends brand along with Bob the Builder as part of a £430m acquisition of Hit Entertainment.
