Sainsbury’s is teaming up with Disney to host a weekend festival in London’s Hyde Park to celebrate the Queen’s Silver Jubilee this summer.

‘The Jubilee Family Festival Presented by Sainsbury’s’ will include live entertainment and music, celebrity performers and dancers, equestrian events, motorcycle displays, and acts inspired by countries within the Commonwealth.

Both days of the festival will finish with a bespoke 70-minute Disney concert featuring many of its songs and characters.

Sainsbury’s says the event will reflect elements of the Queen’s 60-year reign and “provide a fantastic way for families to join in the Jubilee Celebrations”.

The supermarket will provide British themed food and drink during the weekend and a number of yet to be announced British brands will have stalls at the event to exhibit and sell their products.

The BBC’s live coverage of the Jubilee weekend will also be streamed on giant screens.

It will take place on 2 and 3 June. Tickets for the event will be available from 24 February, and will cost £20.

Sainsbury’s will also give shoppers that spend more than £60 in store a coupon to win a family ticket worth £52.

The supermarket is also the first corporate brand partner of the Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant, a 1000-boat tribute to the Queen’s reign on 3 June.
