Man City to host post-match interview on Twitter and Facebook

Manchester City captain, Vincent Kompany, will take part in a live post-match interview with fans on Twitter and Facebook this weekend (February 25), as part of the club’s bid to grow its global fanbase online.

The Q&A session will take place after Saturday’s Premier League clash with Blackburn Rovers at the Etihad Stadium.

Kompany’s answers will be streamed live on Manchester City’s YouTube channel, website and Facebook at 8pm, in what the club claims is the Premier League’s first live post-match interview using social media.

Fans will be able to ask Kompany questions by tweeting their requests to the player’s twitter profile using the hashtag #askvincent, or can post questions on his official Facebook page.

Manchester City has launched a raft of new digital services and marketing initiatives in recent months, as it looks to use the global profiles of its players on social media to drive online fan engagement.

Last month it launched a competition for international fans to spot virtual avatars of players such as Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko in a picture of a matchday crowd.

Kompany previously fronted Manchester City’s ‘Follow The Captain’ campaign ahead of last month’s FA Cup tie against Manchester United.

Tesco has […]
