Mars launches first TV ad for Euro 2012 campaign

Mars has launched a television campaign starring footballers Theo Walcott, Glen Johnson, Scott Parker and Robin Van Persie as part of a £4.5m marketing push to mark this summer’s European Championships.

The advert depicts a penalty shootout between England and Holland as Robin van Persie steps up to take a penalty against a steward, who replaces an injured England keeper.

England internationals, Walcott, Johnson and Parker also appear in the advert.

The AMV created ad first aired yesterday (15 April) during the FA Cup semi-final between Tottenham and Chelsea.

The ad will run alongside an on-pack promotion that offers customers the chance to win 100,000 official special edition shirts. It will be supported by press, outdoor advertising, PR and digital activity.

Mars has been the official supporter to the England team since 2009.The brand has been an official supplier to the national team since 2006.
