Superdrug has partnered with cosmetic brand Bourjois to open its first in-store beauty bars as it looks to introduce added value services to its retail offering.

The beauty bars will offer manicures and pedicures as well as treading and brow and lash treatments. It is the first time that Bourjois has offered beauty services.

Prices will range from £6 to £20 and all Superdrug customers that spend more than £10 on Bourjois cosmetics will receive a voucher for a free express make-over.

Superdrug is also offering all customers an introductory offer that gives £2 off the price of a treatment.

The beauty bars will launch in five trial stores this weekend (25 July) but may be rolled out across additional stores if successful.

Sara Wolverson, Superdrug director of beauty, says: For our customers, a beauty treatment is still a treat and importantly, now they can have their treat at our stores for a fraction of the cost of a salon visit.”

Direct marketing can offer brands plenty – cost efficiency, impressive returns on investment and targeting opportunities few other channels could match – it is also the best way to limit long-term damage when your brand is facing a reputational hit.
