Chime Communications’ group creative director Will Scougal is set to join the social network as a brand strategist, charged with working with advertisers to create bespoke campaigns on the platform.

Twitter has also recruited Dara Nasr, currently Google’s industry head of YouTube and display. He will lead Twitter’s agency sales team.

The company is looking to expand the size of its UK sales team by 30 per cent as it looks to offer a better service to the increasing amount of advertisers working with the platform.

Research company Emarketer predicts the site will make $540m (£337m) in ad sales by 2014, up from $139.5m (£870,000) last year.

Elsewhere, Twitter is looking to provide marketers with more analysis on their campaigns and it will increase the amount of events it runs to showcase brands’ Twitter success stories, in its bid to boost its appeal with advertisers.
