DM Trust offers funds to help safeguard future of direct marketing

The DM Trust, created from the merger of the IDM Trust and Direct Marketing Foundation, is offering brands and agencies the chance to benefit from funds aimed at raising the standards of the direct marketing industry, either through nurturing talent or promoting responsible best practice.

Rosemary Smith, chair of the DM Trust, says: “The future of the one-to-one marketing industry depends on both the talent coming in and how consumers interact with what we do. The formation of the DM Trust has created a charity that has the experience to address both of these challenges to create a sustainable future for our industry.

“We welcome applications from anyone with an initiative that promotes and extends responsible marketing, whether by best practice or educating the next generation of marketing talent.”

There will be funds, grants and bursaries available to marketers that can show they are safeguarding the future of the industry from a pot of £500,000. The Trust will also support the IDM Summer School for a minimum of three years and provide bursaries to talented young marketers looking to enter or build more experience in the direct marketing industry.

A further £200,000 will be earmarked for grants to projects that help increase consumer trust in direct marketing.
