The Scottish Amicable advertising account has moved from BMP DDB Needham to Lowe Howard-Spink. The account, worth ú900,000 last year, will be worth ú2m to LH-S. Leagas Delaney and DMB&B Financial also pitched.

Hosta UK, the confectionery company, has appointed Butterfield Day Devito Hockney to handle its ú1m Mr.Tom chocolate bar account and a new product launch. The account is initially confined to the UK. Cowan Kemsley Taylor and Mustoe Merriman Herring Levy were shortlisted.

J Walter Thompson will handle the consumer launch of Glaxo’s ulcer treatment Zantac, probably in February, after the drug gained government approval to go over-the-counter last week. The milder OTC version will be launched through Warner Wellcome. Zantac’s main rivals will be SmithKline Beecham’s Tagamet and Johnson & Johnson/Merck’s Pepcid AC, launched last year.

Abbott Mead Vickers.BBDO has been appointed by Green Isle Foods to handle the national launch of Goodfella’s pizza.

BBC Radio 1 has shortlisted Saatchi & Saatchi, Cowan Kelmsley Taylor, Chiat Day and Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe to handle its creative account. The final pitches take place on January 18.

European Night Service has shortlisted Grey Advertising, Ogilvy & Mather and FCA. The account is estimated to be worth ú3.5m.

Procter & Gamble is spending ú5.5m through Saatchi & Saatchi to launch its Pampers Baby Wipes in the UK.

Liberty, the London department store, has moved its ú400,000 (Register-MEAL) account out of Bartle Bogle Hegarty and appointed Dampier Communications. BBH says it was a joint decision based on Liberty’s advertising needs for the coming year and its anticipated levels of media expenditure.

Pepsi’s new TV brand advertising is due to break by the end of January. The ads will feature supermodel Cindy Crawford.

KP Foods is relaunching its ú35m Frisps brand with new packaging and a new campaign from Gold Greenlees Trott.

Marie Claire editor Glenda Bailey is the latest recruit to Ogilvy & Mather’s American Express campaign following Anita Roddick and Rocco Forte.
