Hosta UK, the confectionery company, has appointed Butterfield Day Devito Hockney to handle its Ãº1m Mr.Tom chocolate bar account and a new product launch. The account is initially confined to the UK. Cowan Kemsley Taylor and Mustoe Merriman Herring Levy were shortlisted.
J Walter Thompson will handle the consumer launch of Glaxo’s ulcer treatment Zantac, probably in February, after the drug gained government approval to go over-the-counter last week. The milder OTC version will be launched through Warner Wellcome. Zantac’s main rivals will be SmithKline Beecham’s Tagamet and Johnson & Johnson/Merck’s Pepcid AC, launched last year.
