Manning Gottlieb Media has struck a £500,000 deal with EMAP Metro and EMAP Elan on behalf of Helene Curtis, for a package of advertising, advertorials, cover mounts, sponsorship and PR across seven titles over the next year.

It is the first time such a deal has been negotiated for a bundle of titles spanning the two groups, MGM partner Colin Gottlieb maintains. Magazines involved are Big, Smash Hits, Just Seventeen, Looks, More, Elle and New Woman.

Activity will focus on Helene Curtis brand Salon Selectives which has advertised in a number of these titles before, although it has now increased its magazine expenditure. The brand traditionally concentrates its activity on TV.

“The deal offers a more co-ordinated and comprehensive rather than scattergun approach, to target a whole range of readers from many different angles,”

Gottlieb says. “It’s a package but will be spread across the year so activities do not appear as one lump.”
