Coca-Cola’s fizzy figures

It was disappointing that you chose not to cover Coca-Cola Great Britain’s sales figures in your February 3 issue, following your highly-speculative report preceding the results announcement the previous week.

The fact is that British consumers are drinking more Coca-Cola soft drinks than ever before. Coca-Cola Great Britain grew sales volume in the fourth quarter of last year by ten per cent, against European growth for the company of nine per cent.

All that, on top of 21 per cent growth in Coca-Cola’s business in Britain in the previous quarter.

The British soft drinks market has plenty of potential for growth and is expanding rapidly. As the nation’s favourite soft drink, Coca-Cola is well placed to take advantage of opportunities for sales growth offered by an enlarged market.

Not only can we “afford another two years like the one we have just had”, we positively look forward to them – and beyond.
