Rolling Rock recall after glass scare

Beer brand Rolling Rock is being removed from supermarket and off-licence shelves following the discovery of small particles of glass in some bottles.

Marketing director Mat-thew Street says: “We are withdrawing the product as a precautionary measure and conducting a full and rigorous investigation into the causes of this problem.”

The bottles which may be affected are stamped with a “best before end” code of 10/95 or earlier.

The firm will run a press campaign starting today (Wednesday), warning consumers to return the product.

Rolling Rock is distributed in the UK by Labatt Brewing and was first introduced here in 1987. It is now one of the UK’s top ten premium bottled lagers.
