Scottish vitamin company seeks buyer

Scottish vitamin manufacturer du Natra is launching Daily Vits into major multiples across the UK this month, as it seeks a buyer for the brand.

Its products have been test-marketed in Scotland over the past four months.

The company has advertised the sale of the brands in Marketing Week. Du Natra director of marketing Paul Fisher says the firm intends to sell the vitamin brand to raise capital for new products. He says du Natra has been in talks with some well-known healthcare companies.

Du Natra has also developed a vitamin-enriched spring-water drink and a malt-based cereal complement, which it is keen to bring on to the market.

Fisher says: “We are looking at a variety of options, and may possibly need a full-service agency once we have finished the restructuring of the company.”

Marketing activity is handled by PR company Beattie Media.

Daily Vits are available in three formulas: for men, for wo-men, and as a “Defenders” anti-oxidant pack. Because one-a-day multivitamins have received a lot of bad press, Daily Vits are sold in “vitamin bubbles”, a US idea which claims to present the vitamins and minerals in the best form for the body to absorb.
