Wales Tourist Board tender

Further to the piece in Marketing Week on February 3 about the Wales Tourist Board putting its account up for review, I wish to add that the review process in no way reflects badly on the excellent work which both Laing Henry and Purchasepoint have done, and still continue to do, for us.

Being a public body, we are required to re-tender from time to time and now was considered the most opportune moment by our board, given the rapidly-changing market conditions and the ever-increasing competition from overseas destinations.

I am sure you will be pleased to hear that we have been inundated with telephone calls here from agencies wishing to pitch for the business, but unfortunately we had to tell them all that the closing date for submissions was January 16, as stated in our advertisement in the European Journal before Christmas.
