Harveys is up for review at Saatchi

Hiram Walker brand Harveys Bristol Cream sherry is the latest Saatchi & Saatchi client to put its business up for review.

Hiram Walker brand Harveys Bristol Cream sherry is the latest Saatchi & Saatchi client to put its business up for review.

Harveys Bristol Cream was relaunched by Saatchi last year, with a £1.5m budget in an attempt to move away from traditional sherry imagery. It was given a distinctive blue bottle and various ads were created showing different characters enjoying the sherry in outlandish situations. The endline was: “Harveys Bristol Cream. Sherry with a most distinctive character.”

Harveys distributor JR Philips refuses to confirm or deny the story. It claims this would be a matter between it and the agency. It is understood that a shortlist has been drawn up though it is not known whether Saatchi is on it.

Saatchi handles a number of other Hiram Walker accounts including Courvoisier brandy and Lanson champagne.
