Sara Lee has appointed TBWA to launch American clothing brand Hanes in Europe. TBWA was responsible for the worldwide launch of Sara Lee subsidiary Playtex Wonderbra, but had to pitch for the Hanes business against a number of Sara Lee roster agencies.

WWAV Rapp Collins and Vauxhall Motors are still in dispute over £2.5m in outstanding fees, despite a settlement between the agency and CCN following an allegedly botched GM Card mailing. WWAV alleged CCN had not spotted mistakes in a mailing to launch the GM Card last year and refused to pay CCN for the work. WWAV and CCN have now settled that dispute, but WWAV data development director Tony Masters says the outstanding fees issue with Vauxhall still has to be resolved.

Mellors Reay & Partners and Butterfield Day Devito Hockney are through to the second round of the Emirates airline pitch. They saw off TBWA, Leagas Delaney, Simons Palmer Denton Clemmow & Johnson and D’Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles

Bartle Bogle Hegarty, Mellors Reay & Partners, New Saatchi Agency and Young & Rubicam are off the shortlist for the £10m Royal Mail account. Ogilvy & Mather, Leo Burnett, Duckworth Finn Grubb Waters, BMP DDB Needham and incumbents D’Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles and Bates Dorland go through to the next round.

Country Music Television has dropped BST BDDP from its shortlist. Harari Page and Duckworth Finn Grubb Waters will battle for the £1.5m account.

Grey Healthcare London has won its first new client since its relaunch last month. The agency has picked up Sanofi Winthrop after pitching against Saatchi’s Healthcom, Paling Ellis KPR and Publitex.

The Texas Trading Company, the confectionery supplier, is believed to be looking for an ad agency.

Parker Knoll, the furniture supplier, is understood to be looking for a direct marketing agency.

The Sponsorship Group, owned by Alan Pascoe, is restructuring its consultancy and rights selling divisions into two firms, APA Sponsorship Consultants and API Sponsorship. They will be headed by John Perera and Matthew Wheeler, respectively.

Bozell Jacobs Kenyon & Eckhardt has acquired New York agency Lewis & Gace, and not merged with it as reported last week. The agency will be called Lewis Gace Bozell Healthcare Worldwide.
