Jeyes hands KMM ú3m project brief

Kevin Morley Marketing has been appointed to handle a “special communications project”, believed to be worth ú3m, for household cleaning firm Jeyes UK, which owns brands Jeyes Fluid, Sanilav and Wet Ones.

Jeyes’ advertising account was with TBWA but has been dormant for two years.

KMM’s appointment follows a top reorganisation at Jeyes, and the resignation of deputy chairman Jim Moir. The firm recently had to adjust its profits figures for 1993 and 1994 because of accounting errors involving the allocation of marketing costs.

A company spokesman stres-ses there is no question the marketing department is to blame for the accounting problems.

The rejig at Jeyes UK means the marketing team will concentrate on the UK only and is being expanded from nine to 14 staff. Marketing controller Sue Jefferson confirms there has been a “substantial increase in the marketing budget”.
