Pegasus package makes the Windows connection

Accounting system specialist Pegasus Software has developed a contact management system for sales and marketing departments. This is Pegasus’ first sales and marketing system.

The company claims to have achieved a first in that the new Windows-based product, Pegasus Connection, combines contact tracking functionality with the ability to link directly into other business applications including Microsoft Office, Lotus Smartsuite and Pegasus’s accounting products, Capital and Opera.

Users can integrate contact information or call histories directly into activity reports or records, without the information having to be re-entered.

“Recent correspondence to the client from the user can be attached to their file, allowing the user to drill down to a specific piece of correspondence to answer queries or problems whilst accessing client details,” explains Stuart Anderson, head of product marketing at Pegasus. “Similarly, the direct link into other business software means that customer sales information can be accessed without exiting the system.

“This product is ideally suited to services industries, where improved levels of data for better customer service are paramount.

“We have been using the product internally for some time now. Its facility to integrate multiple databases means that we can maintain separate dealer and end-user databases, but with the option of merging these to establish which users are serviced by which dealers.”

Commenting on Pegasus’ late entry into the market, sales and marketing director Chris Leak says: “We have been able to analyse competing products, look at the features which users do and don’t need, and then tailor this product accordingly.”
