Spot the Race

Here’s the second round clue to our Spot the Race competition, run in association with York Racecourse. For each round you answer correctly, you’ll earn an entry into the draw for top prize – a private box and admissions for 12 people at York’s October Race meeting, plus £240 of free Tote bets and a champagne reception. There are also runner-up prizes for winners of the draw in each of the five rounds.

In addition, if yours is the first correct solution drawn for round two, you’ll win a champagne day out for two people at York Races, including lunch, and £50 of Tote bets. The prize includes first class return rail travel (from any BR station) courtesy of InterCity East Coast, whose frequent London to York service takes as little as one hour, 46 minutes.

All you have to do to win this top prize is refer to on-the-day press or TV coverage to identify the full race title and distance of the most valuable race supported by Martell.

Clue: “Associated nowadays with brandy, this race was known for its Rum…a treble no less.”
