Remy & Associates, the spirits and champagne company, has handed control of its UK operation to Paul Mills, Remy managing director for Europe North West. He will maintain his managing director’s role in France and the Benelux countries.

Mills replaces UK managing director Mick McDonough, who has been moved to Remy Ireland, where he will be managing director.

Remy UK marketing director Alan Moss is taking on a new role in the Remy Cointreau Group overseas, and it has been suggested he will cover the Asian markets, including India.

In the marketing shake up at the company, it is thought that the marketing director’s role may be phased out, with marketing functions being carried out by the managing director and marketing personnel.

Remy’s buyer for champagne, Hugh Pinnell, is reported to be leaving, but the company will not comment.

Remy’s brands include Campari, Charles Heidsieck Champagne and Piper-Heidsieck Champagne, which last year spent over £1m (Register-MEAL) on advertising. Other brands include Cointreau and Remy Martin brandy.
