Grand Heritage Hotels has launched a conference service hotline, designed to offer a more personal service to conference and incentive organisers.

The Country Club Hotel Group has taken over management of The Brewery Conference and Banqueting complex in London. Both outfits are owned by Whitbread.

The English Riviera Conference Bureau has appointed Peter Kenwright as its first sales and marketing director. Kenwright was formerly a consultant to the conference industry.

The Feelgood Factor, a consultancy specialising in strategic communications and conference production, was launched last month. Chief executive Alan Lamb was formerly managing director of Added Value internal Communications.

Earls Court Olympia has appointed Sterling Special Events to improve its show security and front-of-house services.

The Tower of London has picked Donna Gelardi as business development manager. She previously held the same position at Hampton Court Palace. Both venues are managed by Historic Royal Palaces.

Inter-Continental Hotels & Resorts (IHC) and Singapore-based shipping company Hai Sun Hup are to form a joint venture to manage Inter-Continental and Forum-branded hotels in Australia and New Zealand.

Four Seasons.Regent Hotels and Resorts has established a new added value programme. The “No luggage required” service offers guests the opportunity to enlist the help of concierge staff to purchase or replace essential items.

P&O cruise liner Oriana, launched last week, is now open for conference and incentive business. The 850ft ship has capacity for meetings of up to 664 delegates and boasts three swimming pools, a cinema and theatre, and a selection of bars.

Academy Expo, the exhibition display specialist, has taken over distribution rights for FOLDit – a low cost, flat-packed, cardboard display system produced by Cardboard Innovations.

Peninsula Group, the operations and marketing division of Hong Kong and Shanghai Hotels, has appointed Luciana Bori as regional sales manager, UK & Scandinavia.
