Saatchi & Saatchi president Michael Kay is to follow the £49m (Register-MEAL) Dixons account to the New Saatchi Agency.

Kay, promoted to Saatchi & Saatchi president just three weeks ago, has been associated with the Dixons account for many years. It is believed that he will become chairman of the new agency as part of the deal which brings both the Dixons and Currys business to New Saatchi.

The loss of the account will cause further departures from Saatchi & Saatchi, where about 40 people work on the business.

The Dixons Group has split the work between New Saatchi and D’Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles, which will handle creative work for PC World and The Link. The DMB&B-owned Media Centre will handle all media buying, boosting billings by 20 per cent.
