Polygram Filmed Entertainment will launch a £500,000 national poster campaign on May 8 for the long-awaited video release of Reservoir Dogs on June 14. The 96-sheet campaign will be run with The Times and be supported by co-promotions with Faber & Faber and MCA Records, as well as a Reservoir Dogs site on the Internet. There will also be a nationwide night club promotion with 100 venues staging themed “Dogs” nights. It will be the industry’s biggest campaign for a single title, claims Polygram. The British Board of Film Classification granted the Quentin Tarantino film – which features an man’s ear being severed – an “18” certificate last week. The decision was delayed until two years after the movie’s release.
