Article leaves a bitter aftertaste

With reference to your piece “Kio-Ora sweets slammed” (MW March 31) on the launch of Kia-Ora fruit pastilles, I take great exception to the article.

I made it quite clear that the sweets are manufactured by Ernest Jackson & Co, which has a licensing agreement with Schweppes to use the Kia-Ora brand name.

We are also very positive about the fact that they are sweets and make no lofty health claims for children other than there is added value in the vitamin content and no artificial flavours or additives.

I actually sent the product to your magazine so I’m interested to know where on the packet it states that the sweets are “healthy”.
