WCRS loses out at Sharwood’s

JA Sharwood has confirmed that it is dropping WCRS, ending a 12-year relationship.

WCRS’s grip on the 2m account has been shaky since the departure of WCRS managing director Amanda Walsh in March. Walsh handled the business at the agency.

However, the account will not go to Walsh’s new agency Walsh Trott Chick Smith – at least not immediately. A spokesman says: “We have parted company with WCRS. There are no plans to appoint a new agency. We will make a creative appointment later in the year. Media buying stays with BBJ Media Services.”

There is still doubt over WCRS’s hold on the Paxo account. WCRS managing director Stephen Woodford says: “As far as we are concerned, our relationship continues with Paxo.”

Sharwood’s would not comment on its next move, but is believed to have already begun talking to other agencies.
