Will Hai Karate ads create a stink?

On the back of the re-emergence of Hai Karate – the aftershave that could bowl over anybody with respiratory problems – we are also about to witness the re-emergence of the actress who made the Seventies advertisements for the brand so “memorable”.

The voluptuous Valerie Leon starred as the woman the Hai Karate-wearing man had to fight off, in the seminal advertising which launched a thousand other sexist ads.

She has since enjoyed a career that has taken her from Hai Karate to Hammer House to James Bond as well as a spell as the greeter at a leading Soho restaurant.

We are promised advertising of a similar vein for the re-launch, which should ensure some work for the Advertising Standards Authority.
