IBM Europe is to restructure its European marketing division and is head-hunting a new marketing team to be based at its Paris headquarters.

Sources say the computer company is approaching marketing directors within the PC industry and offering a series of new posts at its European division. IBM Europe is looking for a replacement for European marketing manager David Winn, who left the company last December to become IBM PC marketing director for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Potential applicants are being told the salary will be FF1m (125,078).

Head-hunters are also seeking applicants for the posts of European operations manager and head of global media buying, according to sources. The new posts are part of a major restructure within IBM’s marketing division.

It is understood that no redundancies will result.

Winn confirms that IBM is “strengthening” its PC marketing team and says an announcement about the changes should be made within the next week.
