Kaye close to sell-out deal with Polygram

Controversial advertising director Tony Kaye is on the brink of selling Tony Kaye Films to Polygram International, for an undisclosed sum.

The move could spell the end of his career in advertising as he concentrates on film work for the US entertainment giant.

Kaye won a Gold Lion award at the Cannes International Advertising Festival last weekend for his Twister film for Volvo, and in true Kaye style he sent his parents along to collect the award.

Kaye’s other recent work includes the Mazda campaign and the “gay” Guinness film.

“Polygram has approached me about buying the company, and has offered me an amount of money which I don’t think is enough. It is not the end of me as an ad director but the company would want any of my activities to be part of the Polygram family,” says Kaye.

“If I do a deal with Polygram, it will be sooner rather than later,” he says.
