Signet signs three-strong team

Jewellery retailer the Signet Group has created the post of marketing controller at its chains H Samuel and Ernest Jones, and has made three appointments.

Signet UK marketing

director Dianne Thompson says the appointments complete plans to set up an effective marketing structure at the troubled retail group. The two chains are being relaunched following the appointment of Duckworth

Finn Grubb Waters in March (MW March 17).

Rob Murray has been ap-pointed marketing controller for the H Samuel chain. He joins from Leeds agency Poulter, where he was an account manager.

Playtex marketing manager Sandra Dallison has been named as H Samuel’s new marketing manager. The Ernest Jones chain has recruited Steve Thompson as marketing controller. He was previously marketing manager at confectionery manufacturer Kinder.

Thompson says Murray and Thompson will be “brand champions” of each chain. “When I joined the company last year there had been no marketing director for three years, and no marketing department. With these appointments, we have put the final bits of the marketing department in place.”
