TSMS completes restructuring

TV sales group TSMS has re-vealed its restructured management, which it hopes will boost airtime sales administration and support services.

The company will run as three operating divisions, with each given a board of directors and managing director who will report to the TSMS Group board.

The airtime sales division, TSMS, which handles airtime sales for eight ITV regions including HTV, STV and Meridian, has been restructured with a number of new management positions and a greater use of technology.

No new staff have been appointed. Jerry Hill remains managing director of the airtime sales operation and deputy chief executive of the TSMS Group.

“Our new streamlined structure will allow us to deliver the best possible service and results for clients, agencies and broadcasters,” says TSMS Group chief executive Tim Wootton.

“Selling eight different regions is a logistical nightmare,” says Chris Locke, deputy managing director of the Media Centre. “Every one of them has to be looked after individually and TSMS had a bit of a hiccup around Easter. It’s now moving people from front of house to the back room where they’re needed.”

The group has also formed Paradigm, an information and services company under managing director Anne Harbutt. This will provide consultancy services on programme production, airtime sales and for broadcasters.

A third division, Media Information Services will market TSMS’ Sundial airtime sales computer software.

– Televisions Sales Scotland, a division of TSMS, is appointing Alan Gibson as sales director to replace Andy Cummey who has left the company. Sales controller Phillip Jones is being promoted to sales negotiating director.
