Tourist board boss joins Scots bank

Tim Hailey has been lured from his position as director of UK marketing at the Scottish Tourist Board to join the Bank of Scotland as director of product development.

The newly created job involves overseeing a number of product managers who deal with areas such as savings, loans and mortgages. Hailey, who has been with the tourist board for just over a year, was previously

with Invergordon Distillery. He joins Bank of Scotland on September 1.

The move has sparked a review of the marketing operation at the Scottish Tourist Board.

The marketing staff and the board’s advertising agency, Faulds Advertising, will report direct to chief executive Derek Reid, while a decision is made on a replacement for Hailey.

The Bank of Scotland’s 2.5m ad account has been under review for the past few months, but is likely to be decided shortly. The company appointed Stuart Bell as advertising manager last month.
