Universal, Motive win 4m media

Universal Communications and Motive, the Bartle Bogle Hegarty media dependant, have each been awarded 4m of media buying business.

Motive has picked up the media buying and plan ning business for health care insurer Private Patients Plan. It is its first piece of business since it was launched by BBH in June.

Optimedia and Zenith also pitched for the account, previously held by the Media Shop.

In a separate development, Interpublic subsidiary Universal has taken the TV buying business for Saab UK from Zenith – without a pitch.

The 4m account completes Universal’s hold on the Swedish car manufacturer’s 10m UK business. Universal previously held its press buying and corporate advertising accounts.

A realignment into Interpublic agencies has been underway across Europe for the last 18 months, since Saab appointed IPG agency Lowe Brindfors in Sweden. IPG is the General Motors lead network and GM owns 50 per cent of Saab.
