Consumers will soon be able to enjoy a post-match bath with England football star David Platt through the launch of a range of Team England toiletries.
Platt will unveil the products, which include aftershave, shampoo and conditioner, next week. They will be available at Boots the Chemist, Tesco and other major multiples.
Team England products are aimed at boys and men in the 14-to-35 age group.
The range has been jointly developed by Football Association commercial director Trevor Phillips – who intends to raise the England team’s profile in the run up to next year’s European Championship – and marketing services company Marlin Direct, which approached him with the idea.
Peter Shelley of Marlin Direct says Team England will be backed by national press advertising and branding on perimeter hoardings at Wembley stadium.
He adds that the packaging is dark blue, bears the England team crest and is more upmarket than “the obvious design route of red, white and blue”.
