Duo to start up UK’s first ‘digital’ full-service outfit

The Hub, a new full-service agency, is being launched this week by former SP Lintas board director Sam Rudder and Marek Grabowski, previously a creative director at Batey Ads Singapore.

The start-up, based in West London, is described by its founders as “a digital agency”. It has been structured around a permanent staff of six and a pool of freelance talent in the UK and overseas. They will be connected via computers and a modem.

Joint partnerships will enable The Hub to offer a full service. It will handle traditional media needs and also cater for new media requirements, says Rudder. Agencies are usually structured to cater for traditional mass-media, he claims.

“There is a new way of servicing clients that brings new technology into the creative process,” says Rudder. “We will also be able to offer new disciplines such as the ability to edit film and create CD-Rom in-house.”

Rudder and Grabowski will be joined this week by former Chiat/Day director of media communications John Crowley. He will oversee strategic communications planning in the new role of media communications director.

The Hub has signed up its first clients: IT consultant Hyperion and Afro Asian Communications, a telephony specialist that will shortly launch mobile telephones in India.
