Post Office Counters starts 4m account review at GGT

Post Office Counters is reviewing its 3.7m account, held by GGT for the past five years.

Head of communications strategy Phillipa Dennell confirms that the Post Office is shortlisting four agencies, including GGT, and expects to appoint one of them by the end of the year.

Dennell says the reason for the review “is not because we are unhappy with GGT but because our business is very different to the business that it was five years ago. Clearly when we appointed GGT we were not facing the commercial freedom or automation that we are now.”

She adds the task for the winning agency will be to inform the public about the changes that are taking place. Under its new remit, the Post Office has begun selling Lottery Instants, foreign currency and holiday insurance.
