Sony is launching a range of widescreen televisions in the UK with a 2.5m advertising campaign through agency BMP DDB Needham. The push, which breaks at the beginning of November, shows a man experiencing an “out of body” sensation. He is seen falling through the sky seated in his armchair, narrowly missing an aeroplane on his descent. He falls back into his living room, closely followed by his pet cat. It is then revealed that he has been watching his Sony widescreen tele vision. The commercial was made without studio tricks and the stunt shown was performed by world champion skydiver Guy Manos.
