Colin Beaumont has been appointed sales and marketing director for St Ivel Provisions. He moves across from sister company St Ivel Chilled Products.

Serengeti Eyewear (right) European marketing director Caroline Hewson has left the company. She joined the premium brand division of US eye wear giant Corning in July 1994 to set up its European HQ in Amsterdam.

Butlin’s and Haven holiday companies are to be managed by new holding company, ParkWorld Holidays. The marketing director will be Peter Allport from Haven. The company says the move will not affect the brands.

Peter Mangion, sales and marketing director for haircare company Schwarzkopf, will take charge of the merger of its brands with those of Henkel, which acquired a majority stake in Schwarzkopf last week.

UK Charity Lotteries is dropping the Lotto tag from its scratchcard brand. The tickets will be known simply as Lukcy (sic), and the full name will be Lukcy Lottery.

Guy Parsons, sales and marketing director in the UK, is to become UK operations director. He will continue to head sales and marketing.

Hai Karate, the Seventies aftershave brand which was relaunched this summer, is supporting Status Quo’s UK tour. It is now talking to other bands about possible tie-ups.

Direct Line head of marketing Ian Craig has resigned after holding the post for only 18 months. The insurance giant is understood to be reviewing its marketing structure. Craig will join home shopping business Freemans next year, taking up a new role created for him, though it is not yet clear what this is. At Freemans he will report to marketing director Rosemary Astles.

Jimmi Rembiszewski, currently BATCo marketing director, has won the plum marketing director role at British-American Tobacco (Holdings), the company created to control all of BAT Industries tobacco interests. It unites the four tobacco companies within the group Brown & Williamson in the US, Brazil’s Souza Cruz, BAT (Germany) and BATCo which covers all other operations. (See Analysis, page 24)

Apple Computer is ditching its global marketing structure and replacing it with regional-based marketing. Dan Eilers, vice-president responsible for worldwide marketing, has left the company.
