Buyout spurs first Golden Wonder exit

Golden Wonder’s commercial director Neil Stansfield has become the first casualty of last month’s management buyout (MW October 27).

His role was equivalent to deputy managing director but he was not part of the management buyout team headed by Clive Sharpe, the former chief executive of Homepride Foods. Before becoming commercial director, Stansfield was sales director.

Golden Wonder was previously owned by Dalgety, which also once controlled Homepride.

The company is also restructuring its marketing department, partly as a result of the promotion of head of marketing Paul Boothman to the post of marketing director.

Golden Wonder is now looking for a group product manager or marketing manager, and a senior product manager to work on crisps and the Wotsits brand. A third is likely to be recruited to work on the snack side of the business which includes the Nik-Naks brand.

This will replace a senior product manager and a product manager who have both left in the past couple of months. Both handed in their notice prior to the buyout.
