Domecq spring water finds md

Allied Domecq’s new mineral water venture, the Gleneagles Spring Water Company, has appointed Chris Zanetti as managing director. He was formerly Harvey’s Bristol Cream international marketing director.

Zanetti lost his position at Harvey’s Bristol Cream after a re-organisation of parent company Allied Domecq’s marketing structure. Marketing for the sherry brand has been centralised at the new Brand Centre in Bristol under international brand director Graeme Cox.

Allied Domecq acquired Gleneagles Spring Water two years ago, but has yet to develop it. The appointment of Zanetti signals Allied-Domecq’s decision to build it into a global premium brand.

Zanetti says: “The potential exists for Allied Domecq to use its network to develop the brand around the world. It is potentially a tremendous concept, but it is at an embryonic stage at the moment.”

Zanetti was responsible for the relaunch of Harvey’s Bristol Cream in blue bottles. He has also held the position of take-home marketing director at Allied Beer Brands, before it entered the joint venture with Carlsberg to become Carlsberg-Tetley. Before that he spent four years at Pedigree.
