Thomas Cook hunts chief for new post

Thomas Cook is creating a new post of marketing director for its financial services division and is doubling the financial services marketing team at its London HQ.

The company is global market leader in retail foreign exchange, with over 1,000 bureaux worldwide. It is also the world’s largest issuer of Mastercard and Visa traveller’s cheques.

Thomas Cook restructured in February, dividing its worldwide business into Thomas Cook Financial Services and Thomas Cook Travel Related Businesses.

The new marketing director, yet to be appointed, will report to managing director of Financial Services John Donaldson.

The company is looking for someone to lead the development of new distribution channels, new products and new services.

It is also looking to recruit marketing managers in its offices across the world and is aiming to double the financial services marketing staff at its HQ, which currently number between ten and 15.

Last month the company launched a global computer booking service, for use across 50 countries, which is likely to be used for financial transactions.
