Evian mineral water is reviewing its advertising and says it is deciding its strategy for next year. The review includes examining the work done by both its roster agencies – TBWA which handles the work in UK and North America, and EURO RSCG Wnek Gosper, which handles the work in Europe. A decision will be made within the next few months. No other agencies are involved.
Ned Kelly’s, the Australian-themed bar and restaurant chain, has appointed Bean MC as its first advertising agency. It was founded in 1993 by a consortium of businessmen including Keith Gill, ex-marketing director of Derwent Valley Foods. The company’s md is Simon Wiles, ex-Allied Domecq.
The London Monarchs’ new campaign breaks on TV this week following the re-appointment of McCann-Erickson Manchester as sole agency for the team in the World League of American Football 1996 (right). The ad has “sinister X-Files overtones”, the agency claims; it was created by Dave Price and Zak Mroueh and shot by Stark Films. The campaign will also include radio, national press and direct mail in the run-up to the Superbowl in January.
The creditors meeting for Woollams Moira Gaskin O’Malley, which went into receivership with debts of almost 900,000 in August, takes place this Thursday. Some creditors are expected to demand that former directors of the agency take responsibility for outstanding debts.
The McWilliams partnership has won the 500,000 P&O Swan Hellenic cruise and holiday account and will use the strapline “Broaden your horizons, broaden your mind” in the new campaign.
Faulds Advertising has been awarded the advertising account for Matthew Gloag & Son’s Black Bottle blended whisky. The business has moved out of agency Butterfield Day Devito Hockney without a competitive pitch.

Alan Pascoe’s sports sponsorship business API Sponsorship has been appointed to market the new 75m professional US soccer league, which kicks off next April. The group has put up nearly 1m to take a 24 per cent share in one of the ten teams – Washington DC United.
Holger Wiemann, UK managing director of Gruner & Jahr, has confirmed that Arc will be devising a campaign for Prima magazine in January. He says he has no plans for other campaigns at the moment.
