Katy Turner, founder of women’s radio station Viva! and former sales and marketing director of Golden Rose Communications, has been appointed managing director of a new media promotions company – Creative Media Partnerships.
Turner, who left Golden Rose earlier this year following an illness which prevented her seeing Viva! through to launch, took up her new position this week at CMP, a division of marketing and sponsorship specialist Spero Communications.
CMP will develop media promotions ranging from TV and radio sponsorships to magazine advertorials.
Turner says the company will not be a sales promotions specialist and despite her extensive commercial radio experience, she insists it will not work only in radio. She hopes to develop media promotions with cable and satellite channels, and even ITV as it seeks to develop more innovative promotions.
Spero managing director Ian Spero says CMP will draw on the group’s in-house design, print and research facilities. The launch of CMP is part of an expansion plan, he adds.
